As an award-winning Costume Designer with over twenty years’ experience across film, television, theatre, stadium spectaculars and high-end immersive events, Susan has an exceptional understanding of garment construction, grounded in her training in costume making. This foundation is crucial in realising ambitious designs within realistic timeframes and budgets, whilst never compromising on quality, aesthetic integrity or storytelling. She prides herself on creating consistently beautiful, original and dramaturgically intelligent costumes.

Susan’s current projects include Costume Designing Remember, a major new Disney–Pixar production created for the highly anticipated Disney Adventure cruise ship (opening April 2026), directed by Thom Southerland; The Greatest Showman – Come Alive, which opened in London in September 2024 and transfers to Sydney in May 2026 for its Australian tour, directed by Simon Hammerstein; new productions for Secret Cinema opening in 2026; a series of bespoke immersive commissions for Immersive Octopus; and Hunnenkönigin in Worms, Germany for Les Enfants Terribles (opening July 2026).

Recent projects include the Opening Ceremony for the Valorant Championships tournament (Done + Dusted, Paris September 2025); Indigo, a new US musical at Curve, Leicester (June 2025); and Footballer’s Wives – The Musical, directed by Anthony Banks (Edinburgh Festival).
Susan read English at Somerville College, University of Oxford. She was awarded the Edith Horsman Travelling Fellowship to explore global costume traditions before gaining a Distinction in her Postgraduate Certificate in Costume Design at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She won the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Accademia del Film Award for Best Costume Design.

Susan is a member of BAFTA and has served on various judging panels, including BAFTA, and chaired the Royal Television Society Production Design Awards 2026. She is part of the 2023 Breaking the Glass Ceiling cohort, holds her AHEA qualification, and lectures regularly in Costume Design across the UK and internationally, including in the Middle-East.
